Qualified and Expereinced Room Leader - 3-5 Years Classroom
Round and Round the Gardens Childcare is a 46 place full day nursery where outdoor learning is an integral part of our children's learning and development. With 5 unique outdoor areas, three different aged classroom which all offer small and supportive teams, and a sensory room for all children to access, as well as support children with SEND needs, we look to offer a holistic approach to children's learning, where our staff are free to plan, teach and most importantly play! Each day is different, motivational and the children are at the heart of what we offer.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Room Leader for our 3-5 years classroom to join our vibrant childcare team. This vital role involves leading a dedicated group of early years practitioners to deliver exceptional care and education for children in our nursery setting. As the Nursery Room Leader you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will also support the management team in daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and fostering a positive team atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced early childhood educators committed to making a meaningful difference in young lives. This role is alsp prefect for someone who is looking for a next step in the childcare carer and into a more senior role.
Duties
- Lead and supervise daily activities within your designated nursery room, ensuring high-quality care and early childhood education.
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that promote development across all areas.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors at all times.
- Assist the senior management team with operational duties, including staff scheduling, record keeping, and compliance with safeguarding policies.
- Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering professional development and teamwork within the nursery.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, routines, and any concerns that arise.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or early childhood education setting, including preschool, toddler care, or infant care.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to lead a team confidently.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early years education.
- First aid certification to ensure immediate response to emergencies.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Ability to demonstrate behavior management techniques that promote positive conduct and emotional well-being. Early Years Practitioner - Unqualified with experience or Level 2 or Level 3 or above

This position requires a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to communicate effectively with both children, parents and the full nursery team.
Responsibilities

- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.

- Maintain accurate records of children's achievements and activities.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, employing positive reinforcement techniques.

Skills
- Experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential; previous work in a nursery setting is highly desirable.

Bank Staff Practitioner - Qualified Level 2 or 3
We are open from 8am to 6pm; 5 days per week, providing care and learning to 1-2 year olds, 2-3 year olds and 3+ year olds across three separate classrooms.
Our Bank Staff provide cover for when needed, at your convenience. It might be for a few hours in a day, or up to 40 hours per week or just a few days per month etc.
